What makes Stones Place special?
Respite care at Stones Place
Respite care, also known as short-term or short-stay care, is a temporary living arrangement at a care home. It gives both carers, and those being cared for, a bit of time off and a chance to recharge their batteries.
At Stones Place, we offer residential respite care. Everyone staying with us for a respite break will receive personalised care, tailored to their individual needs. They’ll have their own furnished room and be encouraged to take part in the life of our home and the many activities on offer.
Where are we?
We’re situated in beautiful woodlands next to Hartsholme Lake. Just minutes away from access to local bus services and 3 miles away from Lincoln Cathedral and the town centre.
Chaplaincy and pastoral support
Stones Place is proud to be supported by a dedicated Chaplain who offers pastoral support to all, whatever their beliefs. Our chaplain provides a listening presence, companionship and one-to-one pastoral support for all residents, their friends and relatives, and staff members - irrespective of their beliefs - and organise worship for those who wish to participate. Where appropriate, residents are encouraged to maintain links with local faith communities.
Activities, trips and events
We support everybody’s individual choices, interests and hobbies and our passionate Activity Coordinators love keeping residents active and entertained. They provide a fun-packed and stimulating schedule for people to participate in as they choose.
There’s our choir, armchair exercise sessions, baking, flower arranging, arts and crafts, quizzes, bingo, external entertainers and church services, just to mention a few of the things we get up to.
Seize the day – unique and memorable opportunities
Funded through charitable support, every MHA care home also prides itself in being able to offer unique and memorable opportunities and activities for residents to quite literally help them 'seize the day'.

Whether in the privacy of your own room or relaxing in the company of your friends and neighbours, we will support you to spend your time doing the things you enjoy. Let us know if it’s music, a favourite newspaper, exercise or a spot of pampering at the salon. Landscaped gardens invite you to appreciate the fresh air, or tend the plants, if you wish. There’s a wide range of social events, so you never need to feel bored or lonely.
Meal times are a special part of the day for you to savour tasty food, freshly cooked by our chef to suit you and any dietary needs. And, of course refreshments are available throughout the day for you and your visitors, who are welcome at any time.
Stones Place has the latest safety and security design features so you can live life to the full with peace of mind.
We encourage our residents to furnish their own rooms as they wish. This could be as simple as hanging a couple of their favourite pictures on the wall, but they’re also welcome to bring their own comfy chair, or anything that makes them feel at home. The most important thing is for everyone to feel comfortable, happy and settled.
We have a mix of room types, including some with a full en suite wet room or an en suite toilet and sink. Some rooms also enjoy lovely garden views.
Our residential care is all about providing a special kind of home from home. It’s our way of making sure your loved one continues to live life to its fullest and remains as independent as possible. It means they can get out and about when they want to, catch up with friends or pop to the shops, but with the added security and peace of mind that comes from knowing 24-hour support is available if they need it.
Our team are on hand to offer just the right amount of care, giving those who need it support with activities such as bathing, dressing and mealtimes.
Without having to worry about cooking meals, washing clothes or getting the hoover out, you’ll see your loved one fully enjoying life and exploring their full potential.
