41 Places for Residential Care and Dementia Care
Wesley’s own birthplace is remembered in the name of MHA’s home in Bury, opened in September 1990 following a significant fundraising effort by the Methodist Synod of Bolton and Rochdale. An appeal for £60,000 had been launched in support of MHA in the late spring of 1988. By November 1990, the appeal total stood at £61,415.
Epworth Grange can accommodate 41 residents requiring residential and dementia care. The home has five wings, three of them with dining rooms and one with a coffee shop where residents can enjoy mealtimes in smaller groups.
At the same time all rooms are single en suite with toilet and wash basin. “I moved in when the home was first opened,” writes one resident, “and there’s no better place. The staff are very caring and nothing is too much trouble for them.”
The home enjoys many activities and employs a Chaplain, music therapist, reflexologist and Volunteer Co-ordinator.
