65 Nursing Care Places

Hartcliffe nursing home was built in response to local demand. Opened in 2002 and built on the site of a former Boys’ Club, it is located in a suburb on the south side of Bristol.

The home itself lays a good deal of emphasis on the range of activities it is able to arrange for its residents. “Whilst we always respect an individual’s privacy, Hartcliffe has its own Activities Co-ordinator who organises a complete selection of activities for residents to take part in if they wish,” the Manager notes.

Like all MHA homes, Hartcliffe places a great emphasis on the spiritual well-being of older people, helping them to feel valued and fulfilled in their later life. The home was one of the first to undertake MHA's “Final Lap” training, which supports staff, residents and relatives in understanding sensitive end of life issues in an open and positive way.

A good overall caring homely atmosphere, clean and good food. One big family. We put my stepfather in Hartcliffe to be close to mum. Mum loves to be with her partner, mum has been here for 10 years.

It's the best home for care and every think that goes with it. My Mother-in-law only wanted to come to this one. I will tell all about your home.

I know as soon as walked into Hartcliffe that this was where I wanted my mother to be. It was welcoming, clean and staffed by friendly and efficient people. Mum has been exceptionally well looked after - not only her nursing needs but also her well being. The staff go out of their way to say hello and routinely check if she is okay. I have also built up a great relationship with the staff I have contact with.

My uncle has been in Hartcliffe Nursing Home for two years and we have had no call to complain about anything. The staff are very good from the management to the care workers. I have been informed of any change in his health, even if it was minor. He was in care for three years previously and we had no notification of anything. We are very pleased with his care in every way and the cost is 'cheaper'.

My wife and I have had 5 years evidence of visiting Hartcliffe Nursing Home. We have always been greeted and treated as friends which reflect on the entire home.

Mum has now been here for just short of 2 years. I have regular contact with all the care team and can only say what an excellent service the home and team provide. I would recommend the home to anybody. My father in law has recently gone into another home as we could not get him in here. (Gutted). I have nothing but praise for all the staff and support they give mum.

Mum is bed bound and went into the home in 2013 after a six-month stay in the hospital. They have the staff and equipment to make her life easy. She enjoys family visits but Inky, the PAT dog gets the most and biggest smiles. The family has peace of mind that Mum is being well looked after and is safe.

My father was moved to Hartcliffe Nursing Home after a short spell in hospital. His dementia was really trying for the staff but they stuck with it and his care was second to none. They were so caring and the home had a lovely warm and caring feeling to it. I can't say enough about them.

My husband thinks the home is brilliant and he is very happy here. I spend nearly every day with him and the staff are lovely towards me as well. He feels he is treated with respect and dignity at all times. He enjoys the interaction he has with the staff. I am very thankful he is at Hartcliffe Nursing Home.

My sister became a resident in Hartcliffe Nursing Home in May 2016. I am so happy that we choose this home, it is well kept and my sister is well looked after. She is always clean and happy. The staff and helpers are friendly, helpful and always polite. My sister cannot talk or do anything for herself, so it is a great weight taken off my mind that she is so well looked after.
