51 Places for Nursing Care and Residential Dementia Care

Talbot Way

Tel: 01462 481694

The opening of Trembaths in 1989, together with Westbury in Newport Pagnell, launched MHA into a new era of care. By offering full nursing care in Letchworth, the organisation was setting out to meet the requirements of an increasing number of older people with advancing physical and mental care needs.

In 2003, dementia specialist care was introduced. Through “awareness days”, the home has shared its knowledge with relatives and the public, explaining the effects of dementia and how special care can improve the quality of life.

As one resident says, I have lived here for twelve years and there is nowhere I would rather be. I think the staff are a tremendous team and the care and love shown according to our special needs is truly amazing.”

Was given an emergency respite bed for my father and so glad it was here. Staff are so friendly and can't be more helpful and made my dad very comfortable. Rooms have all you need and very clean. Food is excellent and as much as the residents want. I stayed whilst they had a quiz which helped with memories and then a singalong which my dad joined in with. Lots to keep residents happy and anything they are interested in is taken into consideration. Can't recommend this lovely place enough. Well done all at Trembaths!

My father was resident in Trembaths for 10 months. Aged 89, he arrived after discharge from hospital, having suffered a major stroke. He had limited mental and physical capability, so he required hands-on nursing and personal care. Throughout his time at Trembaths, he received a high level of care from all staff - Nurses and Carers especially. His care was delivered diligently and sensitively and efforts were always made to improve his quality of life by involving him in activities wherever possible. Being a religious man, he especially appreciated the regular weekly services, as well as bedside visits from the chaplains to sing and share readings and prayers with him. As and when there were issues with his health I felt that the nursing staff were on top of things and proactive in calling in the doctor when they felt it necessary. I was always kept informed of issues too, which was reassuring given that I live abroad. I have no hesitation in recommending Trembaths.

Mother incapable of writing- management is in the process of being changed which is good as the past manager had changed too often, no good for staff running of the home, families and residents. On the whole, the staff are great, the people who stood out are the entertainer and hairdresser. The cleaners are very good and friendly. Mother is being well looked after if she wasn't she would not be alive at 101! When a job needs doing they are always willing to help. There are niggly complaints from time to time but that's all.

The accommodation offers fantastic all round care under difficult individual circumstances. I feel at times the residents are left on their own a little too much in the communal areas by no fault of the carers, this is mainly due to staff shortages and when two are required for individual needs. The residents are entertained with different activities and on a regular basis including visiting the hairdressers. The food seems to be enjoyed and is good. Well done to all the carers fantastic job.

Staff have been very supportive and very honest and open with us about mum's needs and progress/regression since she has been there. They try to involve as many as possible in the activities but when family are there they don't push it and allow privacy and family time. They always celebrate special occasions for residents and genuinely take the time to get to know each resident and their likes/dislikes and cater to that as much as possible. They provide one on one as much as they can but unfortunately as they are not flush with staff it is not as much as we would like to see but they try their best. The home is well looked after and the food quality and variety is excellent. Highly recommended.

After visiting a number of care homes, arriving at Trembaths was a breath of fresh air. This was just what I wanted for my wife and what she deserved!! Trembaths is clean, light and airy, staff caring, friendly and considerate to both residents and families. The staff never seem to pass a resident without speaking to them and leaving them happy and reassured. It breaks my heart to see my wife as she is now, but I know that she will spend the rest of her life at Trembaths secure and happy as possible, this is due to the wonderful care and compassion shown by the management and staff at Trembaths. It's a palace!!

I find the care for my dear friend to be very good. Staff are approachable, very friendly and loving towards my friend. Her room is clean and tidy, she is always presentable although I wish her hair could be washed more often (realise the lack of clean hair could be her unwillingness to let staff do it!) The food seems to be plentiful and she always has drinks nearby. The staff are helpful, kind and often provide tea but I know I can use the kitchen at any time. Trembaths is a well run, well kept, loving care home and I am glad my friends is able to be there and feel safe.

My mum went into Trembaths four months ago under fairly traumatic circumstances after a fall, she just wanted to go home but it wasn't possible. She has been quite a challenge but the staff have been wonderful, kind, patient, caring and sympathetic with us all. We couldn't ask for mum to be in a better place, she is being cared for by a fabulous team of experienced, happy and caring people. Trembaths is a happy and calm place to be and we feel very lucky that a place was available when we needed it. We can never thank you enough for all you do and always with a smile. We always knew it was the right place for our mum after our visit earlier in the year when we visited local care homes for people with dementia.

I would like to express my sincere thanks to all the staff at Trembaths for the care, kindness, patience and dignity they give to our mum. It has been a tough few months since mum went to live at Trembaths but the staff have all been so supportive and very kind. As a family we are so very glad that mum is now safe and very well cared for by a wonderful team and we would like to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. Trembaths seems to be very well run and there is always someone on hand and with time to discuss things with you. It is always so lovely and clean (without that 'care home smell') and has a peaceful, calmness about it. There are always plenty of activities going on to stimulate the residents and family members are always welcome to join in these activities.

From the moment my father and I walked through the door we have both been made welcome and supported. Finding the right home for your parent is hard as well as the great feeling of guilt. The transition for my dad was made easier as the staff took time to find out about him. He has always been treated with respect and dignity. The staff are fantastic and Trembaths now feels like home for both of us. The food looks really good and is prepared on site using fresh ingredients. I would highly recommend Trembaths.
