Methodist Homes (MHA) is a national charity providing a range of accommodation, care and support services to 16,000 older people. We are amongst the largest charities in Britain and one of the most well-established, providing services to older people for nearly 70 years.

During the year 2013-14, we have continued to develop purpose-built accommodation with design features that will meet the needs of older people into the future, and have invested in existing services in order to maintain the best environments for the care and support we provide.

Care Homes and Retirement Living

  • We opened Hatherlow House in Southport, a new independent living with care service specially designed for  couples where one partner has dementia
  • We completed the first phase of apartments in Chippenham, next to our new care home, The Fairways, creating a retirement community with a range of services on a single site.
  • We completed additional apartments at Edina Court in Wisbech.
  • We began the redevelopment of Hall Grange in Shirley, Croydon, to provide a new care home and 22 apartments offering retirement living with care.
  • We commenced the redevelopment of Woodbank in Woking, whereby the home closed in late 2013 to make way for a new development of 40 apartments to be built.
  • We commissioned a flexible service tailored to the needs of older people in Stockport in 51 purpose-built apartments in partnership with Gladman.
  • We had plans approved for the redevelopment of Maidment Court at Poole, where the present care home will be replaced by 87 apartments.
