Abona Court (named for the major Roman port of Abonae) grew out of a partnership between MHA and Sea Mills Methodist Church in Bristol. Opened in 2007, it offers not only a safe and friendly home to older people but has also given a new lease of life to Sea Mills congregation and the local community.
The refurbishment programme included the provision of 21 modern, high-quality one and two-bedroom apartments. The Scheme also includes a conservatory, communal lounge, guest room and a lift, and benefits from the support of a part-time manager.
The new apartments adjoin the church hall and renovated church, offering residents an on-site worship facility and supportive community.
