Built in 1984, and designed to accommodate 22 tenants, Naylor Court has since been refurbished with doubleglazed windows, new kitchens, a shower for the disabled and enhanced fire precautions. It’s “a busy, bustling place where there is a terrific atmosphere,” declares one member of staff, “and it is a pleasure to come to work.”
There are frequent fundraising events organised to enhance the lives of residents as well as community activities organised by residents themselves, such as the monthly luncheon club. Early on they felt that it would be easier to have a communal kitty for tea and coffee, rather than for individuals to stock up for themselves.
“We’re like one big happy family,” commented one resident,
