Greenways was the fifth property to be adapted and opened by MHA in 1948.
The cost of renovating and modernising the existing building in 1989 would have been prohibitively expensive. Instead, an entirely new three-storey Home was built within the existing grounds, designed and equipped to care for 33 residents (extended in 2005 to accommodate 41). In a move that blended personal independence with community living, residents each have their own en suite room and a nurse-call system but each of four “family groups” share a dining room/lounge with a kitchen area. While main meals are prepared in a central kitchen, snacks and drinks can be prepared at any time in the group kitchens.
