Morel Court was a purpose-built red brick property, first opened as a Care Home in 1975. It was built on land given to MHA by Dr John Gibbs and his wife, whose maiden name was Morel. The home is situated in landscaped grounds a short distance from the seafront and one mile south west of Penarth town centre.
Joyce Wells, a volunteer at Morel Court who celebrated a remarkable 30 years of volunteering in 2004, said “I look on the people at Morel Court as my second family, and have built up some very strong friendships over the years.”
