Avonleigh Gardens was built in 1993 and acquired by MHA in 2007. The Home offers care to 40 residents with a wide range of needs, including learning and physical disabilities and dementia care.
The Home has been built with four wings, each one with its own kitchen. Of the 37 en suite bedrooms, three are designed for couples. In 2007, the kitchens were all refitted and new carpets laid throughout the ground floor, while the Home’s call system has been replaced with a system that allows carers to speak to residents directly using their pagers. Outside, Groundwork Oldham & Rochdale has undertaken voluntary work to improve the gardens, at no charge. “I think the Home is beautiful,” writes one resident. “I couldn’t have picked a better place.”
